Position Summary: Reporting to the Solid Waste Site Supervisor, the Solid Waste Site Scale Attendant will help the Town eliminate waste with leading service. This position will focus on the effective operation of the Town’s solid waste scale and related equipment while receiving waste materials at the Town’s Solid Waste and Compost Site. This role is causal, on-call to provide vacation/leave of absence coverage for year-round staff. What you will need: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one year experience in a similar role, specifically with relevant landfill experience. Exceptional organizational skills, including task prioritization, multi-tasking, and effective time management. High level of personal integrity. Strong work ethic. Professional and mature demeanor, especially under stressful situations. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Confident and decisive personality. Must be self-directed and capable of working with little supervision. Ability to work independently in a busy environment. Highly flexible with strong interpersonal skills conducive to a diverse workplace. Strong attention to detail. Ability to interact sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally with all individuals. What we offer: This is a casual, on-call opportunity at the Town. The hourly rate for this role is $25.00 - $29.25 (2026 Rate).
