RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs a variety of tasks involving manual labor. * Operates a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life. * Maintains a clean job site: Picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards. * Performs materials handling and storage. * Works with and assists crew in activities which may include: Hoisting or holding parts and materials, handling tools and equipment, cleaning work site, confined space watch, fire watch and bottle watch. * Performs other related duties as assigned. * Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs. * Responsible and accountable for employee’s own personal safety, as well as the safety of all co-workers and any others the employee meets. * Authorized and obligated to stop work on any task or series of tasks whenever an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or is observed. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, safety personnel, or other supervisor on site. * This position can frequently require long hours and weekend work; travel may be required; some out-of-town and overnight travel may be expected. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent; or minimum of six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training which provides the necessary construction labor skills, knowledge and abilities is required.
