Job details

What is the opportunity? We are looking for a high-stakes orchestrator to lead our most complex digital builds from initial discovery to a successful launch. This isn’t just about moving tickets; we need a leader who can drag ambiguous requirements into structured reality, protect our margins against scope creep, and serve as the authoritative voice that both our internal teams and clients respect. You will be the primary driver of project health, ensuring that "fixed-scope" never means "fixed-risk." What will you achieve? End-to-End Ownership: You will own the full lifecycle of complex digital projects, managing the delicate balance of scope, timeline, and budget while championing our delivery standards, and building fanatical clients. Margin & Scope Protection: You will be responsible for protecting project profitability by identifying out-of-scope requests early and confidently navigating the change control process to ensure we are compensated for the value we deliver. Operational Excellence: You will actively influence the PMO by identifying efficiencies in our tooling and workflows, reducing project cycle times and improving how our cross-functional teams collaborate. What do you need for this role? Waterfall & Hybrid Delivery: 5+ years of experience delivering projects using structured, phase-based approaches within an agency or consultancy. Client Relationships: Proven ability to build and nurture trusted client relationships, including confidently setting boundaries, managing expectations, and navigating difficult conversations. Technical Literacy: A deep enough understanding of digital technologies to comfortably translate technical constraints into delivery impacts for clients and ask the right questions of your project team, and communicate effectively with the client. Project Architecture: Expertise in breaking down complex requirements into executable workstreams, building rigid timelines, and managing RAID logs. Strategic Tooling: Hands-on mastery of JIRA, Confluence, and Figma to maintain transparent internal and external reporting. Bonus Points: PMP certification. Experience integrating AI into delivery workflows or PMO initiatives. A background in new business engagements, including coordinating estimations and SOW drafting. Who are you? The Authoritative Leader: You are firm and authoritative with your internal teams, holding them to their commitments while fostering alignment and consensus. The Confident Advisor: You are the primary point of contact for the client, providing solution-oriented communication even—and especially—when projects are heading off-track. The Boundary Setter: You have the discipline to say "no" or "not yet," navigating difficult conversations and setting clear boundaries to protect the project’s integrity. The Efficient Optimizer: You have a natural bias for action, seeking out ways to improve delivery workflows and finding practical efficiencies that make the entire team faster. What does the hiring process look like? Screening Interview. This initial discussion with HR covers your background and salary expectations, while specifically assessing your communication style and self-discipline for an environment like ours. Hiring Manager Interview. This step digs into the core capabilities of the role to ensure you have the required experience, and may include specific technical questions depending on the position. Team & Values Interview. You will meet with potential cross-functional colleagues to assess your collaborative style and ensure you align with the team's values. Background & Reference Checks. We verify employment history and performance with your provided references after a successful final interview, as well as a Criminal Background Check and Global Sanctions Check. What do we offer? We support our team with a robust total rewards package that prioritizes your health, future, and work-life balance starting on your very first day. 100% Employer-Paid Premiums. We cover the full cost of your Health and Dental premiums (Long Term Disability premiums are employee-paid). Comprehensive Health Benefits (Day 1). Full coverage starts immediately, including 100% Prescription Drug Coverage and Extended Healthcare, 80% Dental, Vision Care, Life Insurance, AD&D, and Critical Illness. Paramedical Support. We cover up to $500 per practitioner, per person (e.g., Massage, Physio, Chiro). Flexible Wellness. A $1,200 annual Health/Wellness Spending Account (HSA/WSA) to support your specific needs. Time Off. 3 weeks vacation (minimum), 5 paid sick days, and paid leave for bereavement and jury duty. Financial Future. Competitive pay and a Group RRSP (GRSP) with 2.5% employer matching (1-year vesting schedule). Why join? At Thrillworks, we are partners in digital acceleration. In essence, we work together to accelerate the journey toward a competitive advantage for our clients and ourselves by solving the right problems. Regardless of the department you belong to at Thrillworks, you will have a hand in the vision and realization of innovative ideas and high-quality outputs. Clarity and autonomy. We want all of our employees to feel involved. That means ensuring everyone knows what we are working on and why; creating space for idea-sharing and creativity, and allowing people to make decisions without the constant need for approval. We are in hyper-growth mode and we hope you are as excited as we are about making an impact through technology with purpose. Challenges and growth. At Thrillworks, we know our people are our biggest asset, and we do everything we can to make them feel recognized, heard and appreciated. Under the guidance of a supportive and patient manager, you will have the chance to build out your insights, gain exposure internally and externally, and grow your expertise. With everything we do, these are our guiding values: Teamwork: We are heading in the same direction, acting and working as ONE. Curiosity: We are open-minded and hungry to improve. Courage: We aren’t afraid to take chances or to admit (and learn from) mistakes. Passion: We care about challenges, the outcomes, and our contributions to meeting them. What we do is the product of who we are and how we think. Apply now! Thrillworks is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
