Mechatronics Engineer Intern - Hardware We are seeking a hands-on Mechatronics Engineering Intern to join our engineering team. This role focuses on the design, assembly, testing, and debugging of electromechanical prototypes, PCBs, fixtures, and development hardware. The intern will work across mechanical, electrical, and embedded hardware tasks, supporting product characterization, validation, and day-to-day engineering build and test activities for our haptic technology. Role Type 4 - 8 Month Contract Responsibilities Build, assemble, and test electromechanical prototypes, subsystems, fixtures, and development hardware. Conduct characterization and validation testing on motors, PCBs, and integrated hardware systems, then document findings clearly. Support PCB inspection, bring-up, soldering, rework, and basic bench-level debugging. Assist with mechanical design tasks including CAD updates, fixture design, 3D printed parts, fit checks, and assembly improvements. Support embedded hardware testing by flashing boards, running test code, and helping debug hardware-software interactions. Work across mechanical, electrical, and embedded hardware tasks to troubleshoot issues and implement practical fixes. Help develop test setups, QA procedures, reliability testing, and engineering documentation. Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Hands-on skills in CAD, 3D printing, soldering, prototyping, circuit design, and electronics testing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Basic understanding of motor mechanics, electronic circuits, and control systems. Experience using measurement and diagnostic tools to test and troubleshoot equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as schematics and mechanical drawings. Comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and embedded hardware tasks in a prototyping environment. Portfolio of personal and academic projects demonstrating hands-on experience in hardware, embedded systems, or electromechanical design. Nice to Haves Interest in consumer electronics technology, gaming, AR/VR, and tech trends. Proficiency in other languages, especially Chinese, is considered an asset.
