Job summary
The Opportunity Toonie Tours is a fast-growing, multi-city tour operator with strong inbound demand. We’re building more than a traditional sales team; we’re building a high-performing, guest-focused experience team within one of Canada’s fastest-growing tourism companies. As we continue expanding across multiple cities, we’re looking for driven, personable individuals who are excited to grow alongside the business and play a meaningful role in shaping its future. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys connecting with people, and understands that great sales comes from understanding guest needs and creating memorable experiences — not just closing transactions. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to help convert high-intent inquiries into exceptional bookings, while contributing to the systems, playbooks, and culture that will support the company’s long-term growth. For the right person, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a company at an exciting stage of growth, with genuine long-term potential for development and progression. This role matters immediately. Your wins (and misses) show up fast. Schedule (Please Read) Sales is not 24/7. We run structured coverage so leads get fast follow-up. We cover the peak response window: * Shift: 9:00am MT – 5:00pm MT The role is fully in-person at our downtown Calgary office and involves handling enquiries via phone, email, and webchat, as well as acting as the first point of contact for in-person visitors. Your Mission Convert high-intent opportunities into revenue without sacrificing margin or guest experience. This role includes: * Public Tours * Private Tours * Group Bookings (schools/corporate) * Attractions * Affiliate Tours * Agent-assisted upsells (pre-tour and post-tour offers) What You’ll Own * Respond quickly to sales-eligible inquiries (phone/SMS/email) * Qualify needs fast: date window, group size, budget band, must-haves, constraints * Present the best-fit option and close with a booking link/proposal * Follow a disciplined follow-up cadence (Day 0/1/3/7/14) — no orphan leads * Track pipeline stages and next actions with clean CRM hygiene * Protect margin: discount only within guardrails; track estimated CM1 on wins * Execute agent-assisted upsells using the playbook * Capture loss reasons and share insights weekly so the system improves Consultative Seller (Non-negotiable) Our guests are typically on vacation or traveling. We need our Sales Rep to be excited with them and consult on the options available. At Toonie Tours, selling is a team sport: * CX qualifies and routes sales-eligible leads * Sales closes and keeps CX informed so guests get consistent answers * Ops ensures feasibility so we don’t overpromise * City GMs/Leads source relationships; Sales supports closing when needed You must be the kind of seller who: * collaborates with the customer to find the best service fit * communicates clearly internally, * keeps people aligned, and * improves the playbook instead of keeping “secret sauce” to yourself. We Build Playbooks Together Everyone contributes to playbooks and training. Part of this role is documenting what works and improving scripts, templates, objection handling, and follow-up sequences—so we get better every week, not just busier. Your Scorecard (How We Measure Success) * Speed-to-lead and contact rate within SLA * Close rate (private + group) * Average order value (AOV) and revenue won * Estimated CM1 won (margin discipline) * Follow-up compliance and pipeline health * Upsell conversion (agent-assisted) * Internal collaboration quality (clean handoffs, updates to CX, fewer feasibility issues) * Playbook/training contributions (consistent improvements) You’ll Thrive Here If * You follow up relentlessly (in a professional, human way) * You can close without panic-discounting * You’re organized, coachable, and accountable * You communicate clearly and keep internal teams aligned * You enjoy improving systems (scripts, templates, process) * You’re kind, trustworthy, optimistic, and resourceful * You like a fun team enviroment * You enjoy serving the public This Role Is Not For You If * You want to operate solo and avoid team collaboration * You dislike follow-up discipline or CRM hygiene * You need constant direction to get moving * You rely on discounting to close * Being measured on outcomes makes you uncomfortable Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
