Position Overview A respected BC-based civil engineering consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join its growing Surrey team. The successful candidate will support municipal capital works and land development projects throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, taking responsibility for civil design, project management and contract administration. This opportunity is suited to a Civil Engineer who can work collaboratively while also taking ownership of projects independently. The role offers continued career development, increasing responsibility and exposure to the full project lifecycle from design and approvals through tendering, construction and contract administration. Further Responsibilities Include Lead civil engineering design and project management for municipal and land development projects. Coordinate with clients, municipalities, contractors, sub-consultants and outside agencies. Prepare engineering reports, studies and cost estimates. Prepare tender packages and contract documentation using Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD). Manage project schedules, budgets and invoicing. Provide contract administration and oversee project delivery in accordance with MMCD requirements. Support civil infrastructure design involving sewer, watermain, roads, grading and stormwater management. Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, municipalities and multidisciplinary project stakeholders. Ideal Candidate Requirements Approximately 5–10 years of professional civil engineering experience, with a focus on local municipal engineering and/or land development. Eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC as a P.Eng. or P.L.Eng. Strong civil design experience across sewer, watermain, roads, grading and stormwater management. Experience with project management, cost estimating, schedules, budgets and invoicing. Strong experience preparing design, tender and contract specifications, particularly using MMCD. Detailed understanding of civil construction and project execution. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills. Valid BC Driver's Licence. Additional Assets MMCD Contract Administrator (CA) designation. Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
