Job summary

Employer Overview Total Oilfield Rentals (TOR) offers rental and transportation of drilling, completion and production equipment to the oil and natural gas industry throughout Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. Our mission is to exceed customer expectations by supplying superior rental equipment, transportation services and product support. Position Summary Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Heavy Haul Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate personnel and optimize trucking delivery schedules for various types of legal and over dimensional loads. They will work to resolve logistics issues that arise. Lastly, they must always ensure proper safety procedures are being followed. The Heavy Haul Coordinator must be in possession of a valid driver’s license. This position is fulltime and is based out of our Leduc location. Time Commitment Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, On-call availability will be required. You may be required from time to time to work outside these hours as the need arises. Schedule may be altered at the discretion of management. Summary of Duties (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following): * Coordinate jobs – this includes timing, selecting the appropriate equipment for the job and which personnel to dispatch. * Create dispatches as required for all drivers. Ensuring information is accurate. * Coordinate off duty time for drivers in compliance with Federal Hours of Service. * Supervise / assist loading and unloading of equipment at the branch. * Ensures that all HSE procedures and guidelines are followed by designated personnel (drivers, swamper and maintenance technicians) * Ensuring systematic delivery and resolution of customer inquiries and information. * Communicate with operations and customers to ensure a high level of customer service. * Coordinate with management on equipment availability. * Collect, document and disseminate accurate information to / from customers and drivers. * Arranging 3rd parties such as power companies, transport companies and pilot car companies. * Pulling over-dimensional permits for heavy haul loads and verifying correct dimensions and weights with drivers. * Monitoring drivers E-Logs for compliance with HOS regulations. * Additional duties as assigned. Required Competencies * Proficient in using computers and standard workplace software * Excellent customer service and problem solving skills. * Working knowledge of Canadian and USA HOS regulations. * Experience with pulling over dimensional permits in Canada and USA is an asset. * Experience with heavy haul trucking in Canada and the USA is an asset. * Experience with 3rd party utility companies for over dimensional moves is an asset. * Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills. * Supervisory skills are an asset. * 1-3 years of dispatch experience in heavy haul / oilfield trucking is considered an asset * Class 1 license is considered an asset. * Standard First Aid, H2S and CSO tickets are considered an asset.
