Job summary
Employer Overview Total Oilfield Rentals (TOR) offers rental and transportation of drilling, completion and production equipment to the oil and natural gas industry throughout Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. Our mission is to exceed customer expectations by supplying superior rental equipment, transportation services and product support. Position Summary Reporting to the Branch Manager and under the direct supervision of the Driver, the Swamper is responsible for assisting the Driver with duties related to dispatched jobs and basic truck maintenance. The Swamper will also be responsible assist operators and other crew members with a variety of manual labour-related tasks, including the set-up and pull-down of rigs and equipment, pre- and post-trip inspections and maintaining an orderly and safe job site. This position is permanent/full time and is based out of our Lloydminster location. Time Commitment Monday – Friday, 8am - 5pm. You may be required from time to time to work outside these hours as the need arises. Schedule may be altered at the discretion of management. Summary of Duties (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following): * Must be in communication with the driver at all times (e.g. eye contact, verbal, hand signals) * Personal protection equipment is required at all times * Be aware of all job hazards * Be able to identify all hazards * Assist driver with the pre/post trip inspections * Assist driver with: 1. Loading and unloading 2. Decking on and off trailers 3. Chaining up tires when required 4. Pulling winch lines 5. Hooking and unhooking load slings 6. Tag lines 7. Stabilizer pads when required 8. Guiding driver on location (also known as spotting on location) 9. Inspecting rigging before, during, and after use 10.
