This is a full-time, permanent position working on commercial plumbing projects throughout Edmonton and the surrounding area. Responsibilities Install commercial plumbing systems, piping, fixtures and related equipment Complete rough-in, installation and finishing work on commercial projects Install and work with water, drainage, venting and related piping systems Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and construction drawings Layout and plan assigned work based on project drawings and specifications Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing installation and system issues Test installed systems to ensure proper operation and code compliance Complete work in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, regulations, project specifications and Total standards Identify deficiencies, conflicts and potential project issues and communicate them proactively Maintain accurate job and project documentation Coordinate effectively with supervisors, project managers, general contractors and other trades Maintain company tools, equipment and work areas Follow and reinforce company safety procedures and applicable safety regulations Provide guidance and technical support to apprentices when required Help develop apprentices through instruction, feedback and strong field practices Represent Total Plumbing & Heating professionally on every job site Perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization Skills & Qualifications Alberta Journeyman Plumber Certificate or Red Seal Certification Commercial plumbing experience Strong mechanical and technical knowledge Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and components Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and construction drawings Proficient with applicable hand and power tools Knowledge of applicable plumbing and building codes, regulations and industry standards Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities Ability to independently plan and execute assigned work Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to identify and communicate project issues before they impact the work Ability to provide direction and support to apprentices Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safe work practices and company standards Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record Experience Commercial Plumbing: Journeyman-level commercial plumbing experience required Experience with the following is considered an asset: Commercial construction Plumbing system layout and installation Water distribution systems Drainage, waste and vent systems Commercial fixtures and equipment Mechanical rooms Hydronic and boiler systems Renovation and retrofit projects Licence / Certification Alberta Journeyman Plumber Certificate: Required Red Seal Certification: Accepted Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence: Required Clean driving record: Required What Total Offers Competitive Journeyman compensation based on experience and qualifications Comprehensive benefits package Dental care Life insurance Designated paid holidays Vacation and statutory holiday pay above industry standard Company vehicle for qualified candidates Tool allowance Ongoing training and professional development Opportunities for advancement and increased responsibility Stable, year-round work Employee recognition programs Company events Exposure to a variety of commercial projects and mechanical systems Support from an established project management, operations and leadership team What Success Looks Like at Total Success in this position means: Producing safe, high-quality commercial plumbing work Independently planning and completing assigned work Taking ownership of responsibilities and field issues Meeting project and productivity expectations Communicating problems before they impact the project Completing required documentation accurately and on time Working effectively with project teams, general contractors and other trades Supporting and developing apprentices Maintaining a professional presence on every job site Demonstrating Total's Core Values in your work every day Ready to Build With Total?
