Job summary
We have the following job opportunity in our Toronto office: Description We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to manage the Property Facultative portfolio in Canada. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Selecting, pricing and underwriting facultative property business Marketing to existing and potential clients across Canada Producing quarterly and annual reports as well as various departmental budgets Demonstrating sound underwriting skills, and is adept in the application of rates, forms, pricing structures, terms and conditions Staying up to date on industry dynamics and policy form coverages Requirements Minimum of 5+ years as an underwriter in property facultative reinsurance Proven track record of relationship building in the Canadian P&C market Proven experience underwriting property business with an emphasis on property facultative Experience managing an underwriting portfolio and familiarity with common property risks Ability to analyze and evaluate contract language Ability to work autonomously with decision making authority Written and Oral fluency in French is a plus Solid understanding of the cause-effect relationship of decisions and their impact on the business Strong interpersonal, communication, excel and word skills Work Schedule TransRe is supportive of an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, your local office’s practices and preferences marketplace trends, and TransRe’s business objectives. This position is located in our Toronto office and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office per week, and 2 days remote.
