Your future starts here. Let’s build something extraordinary together. We are currently seeking a Site Superintendent to join our Construction Team! Reporting to the Project Manager, and working directly with our construction team, the Site Superintendent will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of assigned projects. This position is responsible for the overall construction activities within the established design, budget, and scheduling guidelines. This will include planning and scheduling, organizing, directing and controlling activities on the construction site. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a basic understanding of accounting practices, strategic logic, strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a positive, responsible nature. Key Responsibilities: The Site Superintendent will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment, providing support to the Troika Construction staff in multiple capacities. You will be a coordinator, leader, coach, and negotiator. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Plan for, coordinate, and complete projects safely on time and within budget. • Direct and manage employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. • Keep an accurate and precise daily log of construction and site activities. • Hold weekly site meetings to track project schedules. • Follow established company systems and procedures in a professional manner. • Supervise and mentor site personnel. • Order materials as needed. • Assist engineers, designers, inspectors, etc. with obtaining necessary information. • Schedule and conduct all site contractor meetings. • Conduct toolbox talks and safety orientations in collaboration with the Safety Manager. • Conduct daily walkthroughs of projects, quality assurance and photo uploads. • Ensure materials and workmanship meet quality standards and design requirements. • Inform project manager/senior management of potential or current issues and assist with their resolution. • All other duties as assigned by the Project Manager. * Disclaimer– this list is not comprehensive, and other tasks not mentioned may be required as dictated by changing business conditions which may trigger changes to job responsibilities. ** This Job description is not an employment contract. Qualifications and Requirements: • Must have a thorough understanding of construction documents and blueprints. • Be highly familiar with local building codes, construction methods and best practices. • Proficiency in MS Office, Procore, and SiteDocs. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Excellent communication and people skills. • Valid BC Class 5 license, with a clean driving record. • Current first aid certification. • Red Seal Certification is an asset. • Telehandler ticket is an asset. Personal Qualities: • A team player who is willing and able to pick up a tool needed to get the job done and is highly adaptable in work hours and workload management. • Professional attitude and demeanor. • A desire to continually learn and improve. • Able to lead a team, and values coworkers and subordinates. • Problem solving nature, looking for optimal solutions. • Punctual, reliable, self-motivated. Experience Required: • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a residential or commercial site superintendent. • Experience with WorkSafe BC safety regulations and standards. • Experience in mixed-use and/or townhouse projects an asset.
