Job Summary: As an Intermediate Civil / Structural Engineer, you will contribute to the planning, design, analysis, and execution of civil and structural engineering projects supporting energy and infrastructure developments. Working within multidisciplinary project teams, you will be responsible for preparing engineering deliverables, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and providing technical support throughout project lifecycles. You will apply sound engineering judgment to deliver safe, practical, and cost-effective solutions that meet project requirements, applicable codes, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Civil & Structural Engineering Prepare and review civil and structural engineering designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documentation. Perform engineering analyses for foundations, structural steel, concrete, grading, drainage, and other civil and structural systems as required. Develop engineering solutions that comply with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and client requirements. Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, quality, and constructability. Project Execution & Coordination Support the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through detailed design, construction, and commissioning. Coordinate engineering activities with project managers, discipline engineers, designers, and external stakeholders. Assist with project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and progress reporting. Identify technical challenges and contribute to practical, cost-effective solutions. Client & Stakeholder Support Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities to support project execution. Review vendor documentation and respond to technical inquiries during design and construction phases. Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and project teams. Construction & Field Support Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Conduct site visits and field assessments to verify construction compliance and address technical issues. Assist in resolving field engineering concerns and preparing engineering change documentation as required. Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement Perform work in accordance with company quality management systems, engineering procedures, and project requirements. Promote a strong commitment to health, safety, environmental stewardship, and quality throughout all project activities. Participate in design reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering practices and project delivery. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration in Alberta. 4–9 years of progressive civil and structural engineering experience within the energy, industrial, or infrastructure sectors. Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects through various project phases. Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, applicable codes, standards, and engineering best practices. Ability to prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documentation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. General proficiency with industry-standard engineering design, analysis, project management, and office software. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within project schedules.
