The editor will play a pivotal role in shaping the film’s tone, pacing, and emotional impact, ensuring the story is told with honesty, cinematic flair, and narrative tension. Deliverables Edit a 50–70 minute documentary from raw footage, shaping a compelling, cohesive narrative arc. Collaborate closely with the producer to refine story structure, emotional beats, and pacing. Integrate interviews, archival material, and b-roll to enhance storytelling and visual interest. Apply color correction, sound design, and music to elevate the film’s cinematic quality. Deliver multiple cuts for feedback and revisions, ensuring the final product meets creative vision and technical standards. Prepare final deliverables for distribution, including mastering and exporting in required formats. Requirements Proven experience editing feature-length documentaries or similar long-form narrative projects. Strong storytelling instincts, with the ability to convey emotion, tension, and nuance through editing. Proficiency in industry-standard editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve). Skilled in color grading, audio mixing, and integrating music for dramatic effect. Ability to handle sensitive subject matter with discretion and integrity. Excellent communication skills and openness to creative feedback. Availability to work remotely and deliver within agreed timelines. Portfolio or reel demonstrating relevant documentary editing work.
