AI Startup · Toronto, Canada (In-Person downtown Toronto) About Us We're solving one of the largest problems in the physical world: housing that's too slow and too expensive to build. The $2 trillion construction industry runs on human expertise that doesn't scale - so we're building the AI that understands what to build and how to build it. We start with the costliest problems for general contractors - the multi-million-dollar decisions that Claude cannot solve. Tyce Agent wins more projects and estimates costs on multi-million-dollar builds live at one of the landmark construction companies today. We just closed a 7-figure round and are hiring to build the best AI platform for construction. We offer competitive salary and equity. What You'll Do You'll own the backbone: the APIs, data model, integrations, and systems that everything else stands on. A true generalist who's happiest owning a problem end-to-end. · Build core backend systems in FastAPI + PostgreSQL - APIs, data model, auth, org/permissions. · Handle the but critical parts: security, multi-tenancy, reliability, observability. · Drop into the frontend (React / TypeScript) whenever the product needs it. · Ship new features day-to-day alongside the founders and make real architectural decisions. We're on a modern, lean stack: React Router framework, TypeScript, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Pydantic-AI, Logfire, AWS. Required Qualifications · Mid-to-senior level of engineering experience. · Expert in Python; strong in TypeScript / React. · Have shipped and maintained real backend systems in production. · Go-getter mindset, personal agency, fast learner, excellent verbal and writing skills. · Full-time, in-person downtown Toronto Nice-to-have Qualifications Having any of these is a strong plus — tell us your superpower: · Built B2B apps with security, authentication, org structure, and third-party integrations. · AWS experience. · Built integrations with APIs like Google Drive, Sharepoint, etc... · Worked with AI agents and understand the plumbing around LLMs. · Product sense and general design thinking. · Competitive programmer (e.g. ACM ICPC).
