Job summary

AI Startup · Toronto, Canada (In-Person downtown Toronto) About Us We're solving one of the largest problems in the physical world: housing that's too slow and too expensive to build. The $2 trillion construction industry runs on human expertise that doesn't scale - so we're building the AI that understands what to build and how to build it. We start with the costliest problems for general contractors - the multi-million-dollar decisions that Claude cannot solve. Tyce Agent wins more projects and estimates costs on multi-million-dollar builds live at one of the landmark construction companies today. We just closed a 7-figure round and are hiring to build the best AI platform for construction. We offer competitive salary and equity. What You'll Do You'll own the surface our users live in every day: the Tyce Workspace and document editors. This is the most differentiated and important part of our product, and it's yours to make world-class. · Build and own our rich-text editor experience (we won #1 Product of the Day on ProductHunt for this experience!): complex editing, AI-native writing, comments, real-time collaboration. · Turn hard UX problems into interfaces that feel effortless - you care deeply about product polish and design. · Work full-stack when needed (FastAPI / PostgreSQL) - frontend is your center of gravity but you are also comfortable with backend · Ship day-to-day alongside the founders and make real product decisions. We're on a modern, lean stack: React Router framework, TypeScript, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Pydantic-AI, Logfire, AWS. Required Qualifications · Mid-to-senior level of engineering experience. · Expert in React and TypeScript; comfortable in Python. · Have built and shipped complex, interactive frontends and maintained them in production. · Strong product sense and UI/UX / design thinking - you notice the details and have the urge to improve them. · Go-getter mindset, personal agency, fast learner, excellent verbal and writing skills. Nice-to-haves Qualifications Having any of these is a strong plus - tell us your powerpower: · Built a real editor before (DOCX or PDF: Tiptap/Prosemirror, Nutrient), especially with collaboration / CRDTs. · Design-engineering chops; you can go from Figma to pixel-perfect, or design it yourself. · Built B2B apps with auth, org structure, and integrations. · Competitive programmer (e.g. ACM ICPC).
