Temporary After School Educator (ending in April 17, 2028) Temporary, Part-time For over 35 years, Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton has been dedicated to offering high-quality programs for young children and their families. We operate full-day early learning and childcare centres for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, along with before and after school extended-day programs for kindergarten and school-aged children at over 27 locations across the Greater Hamilton Area. Location: Dundas Central Centre; 73 Melville St, Dundas, ON L9H 2A2 Total Weekly Hours: 17.75 hours per week Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:45pm - 6:00pm Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants): *RECE- $28.90 per hour *Non RECE- $26.35 Why Work with Us? As an After School Educator, you will enjoy: * Access to our Employee Assistance Program * Unionized environment that supports work-life balance * Generous vacation and sick time allotments * Priority childcare placement for employees' children * A positive, collaborative, and fun work environment with top-tier professionals Who We’re Looking For Qualifications: * Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children or in a childcare setting. * Early Childhood Education Diploma (ECE) and member in good standing with the College of ECEs OR educational requirements to obtain Director’s Approval for working alone with children Certifications: * Standard First Aid with CPR Level C * Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check * Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR) Skills & Knowledge: * Familiarity with How Does Learning Happen? (an asset) * Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities. * Excellent communication and organizational skills. Characteristics: * Ability to work independently and in a team. * Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances. * Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
