Portfolio Manager / Program Manager – MES & Digital Manufacturing Location: Ottawa, Canada (Hybrid 3 days onsite per week) Job Description Seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager / Program Manager to lead large-scale Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Digital Manufacturing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing MES and manufacturing transformation programs, including plant digitization, shop-floor automation, smart factory initiatives, stakeholder management, governance, budgets, and global delivery teams. Responsibilities Lead portfolio and program delivery for MES and digital manufacturing initiatives. Manage multiple workstreams including plant digitization, shop-floor automation, batch manufacturing, and smart factory programs. Drive alignment across business, manufacturing operations, IT, and system integrators. Manage program planning, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, and governance. Track milestones, KPIs, delivery performance, and business value realization. Ensure alignment with GMP regulations and manufacturing quality standards. Manage offshore/onshore teams and vendor relationships. Provide executive reporting and stakeholder communication. Required Qualifications 12+ years of overall IT / Digital Transformation experience. 8+ years managing large-scale MES or manufacturing digital programs. Experience with MES platforms such as: Emerson Syncade Werum PAS-X Rockwell PharmaSuite Siemens Opcenter Or equivalent MES platforms Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and lifecycle management. Experience managing $5M+ budgets. Experience managing global cross-functional teams. Strong stakeholder management, governance, and executive communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing, or related field. MBA preferred. Preferred Qualifications PMP, PgMP, SAFe Agilist, or PRINCE2 certification. Experience with Industry 4.0, IoT, Digital Twin, or Smart Factory initiatives. Life Sciences or Pharma Manufacturing experience.
