Job summary

Position Summary UNITY Fitness is looking for experienced, energetic, and inspiring Group Fitness Instructors to lead exceptional classes that motivate, challenge, and connect our members. Whether your expertise is in strength training, HIIT, boxing, cycling, mobility, yoga, or other group fitness formats, we're seeking instructors who can create an engaging experience while fostering a strong sense of community. Our ideal instructor is confident leading groups of varying fitness levels, demonstrates excellent coaching and communication skills, and is passionate about helping members move, feel, and perform at their best. Key Responsibilities Lead safe, inclusive, and effective group fitness classes in alignment with UNITY's programming standards and values Deliver high-quality instruction, coaching, and motivation appropriate to the class format and participant experience level Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate varying abilities, goals, and fitness backgrounds Create a welcoming, positive, and community-focused environment before, during, and after class Demonstrate strong cueing, movement coaching, and class management skills Prioritize member safety through proper exercise selection, technique instruction, and risk management Arrive prepared and ensure all equipment and studio spaces are clean, organized, and ready for use Build relationships with members and contribute to a positive studio culture Stay current with industry trends, training methodologies, and safety standards Represent UNITY's mission and community-first culture both inside and outside of the studio Requirements Current group fitness certification or relevant specialty certification in the format(s) being taught CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain before start date) Minimum 2 years of group fitness instruction experience with a demonstrated track record of building and retaining class attendance Strong communication, coaching, and leadership skills Ability to confidently instruct and engage groups of varying fitness levels Professional, reliable, and team-oriented approach Availability to teach early mornings, evenings, weekends, or a combination thereof Preferred Qualifications The following certifications and qualifications are considered assets: Group Fitness Certifications Canfitpro Fitness Instructor Specialist (FIS) ACE Group Fitness Instructor AFAA Group Fitness Instructor NASM Certified Group Fitness Instructor Yoga Certifications 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training (Yoga Alliance or equivalent) Additional training in Yin, Restorative, Power, Mobility, or other specialized yoga formats Cycling Certifications Schwinn Cycling Stages Indoor Cycling Spinning® Instructor Certification Other recognized indoor cycling certifications Strength & Conditioning Certifications Personal Training certification from a recognized organization Functional training, kettlebell, strength training, or athletic performance certifications Boxing & Combat Fitness Certifications Boxing fitness, kickboxing fitness, or combat conditioning certifications Relevant coaching, competitive, or instructional experience Additional Assets Experience teaching HIIT, strength, mobility, recovery, athletic conditioning, or mind-body classes Experience in a boutique fitness or wellness studio environment Training in mindfulness, breathwork, recovery, or trauma-informed coaching Ability to teach multiple class formats Why UNITY Fitness?
