French or English Tutor III at the Language Enrichment Service (casual position with possibility of renewal)

The tutor will conduct language tutorials, participate in evaluations, and facilitate workshops to support student learning. They will also assist in training staff and perform administrative duties to ensure the effective operation of the Language Enrichment Service.

Founded in 1818, Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) is the first and only French-language university in Manitoba and in Western Canada. It offers 27 college and university programs, delivered by a dozen or so faculties, schools, and departments, and welcomes over 1,700 students as well as 3,000 individuals in continuing education. USB is located in Old St.Boniface, a French quarter with historic charm right in the heart of Winnipeg. Responsibilities: Teach daytime or evening language tutorials for language courses; Participate in language evaluations (administration, marking, etc.); Facilitate, develop or adapt occasional workshops; Assist in the training of tutors or other staff members; Perform any other related duties assigned by the coordinator or director to ensure the proper functioning of the Tutoring Centre or the Language Enrichment Service. Desired qualifications: Relevant university degree; Excellent knowledge of French (spoken and written) or English (spoken and written); Experience teaching language classes; Good knowledge of writing techniques, the writing process, writing tools, and self-correction strategies; Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit; Discreet and reliable; Independent and responsible; Open-minded and sensitive to the needs of others.
