Ecological Field Technologist

This position has a term length of one year plus one day, with the possibility of renewal. Location - This position offers a flexible work arrangement, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work (in Edmonton) based on work preferences. Preference for schedule will be discussed during the recruitment process. Reporting to the Restoration Field Coordinator or Senior Lead, Monitoring and Science Innovation, the Ecological Field Technologist conducts ecological field monitoring and restoration monitoring activities across Alberta. The position is responsible for implementing established monitoring protocols, collecting high-quality field data, maintaining specialized equipment, and supporting the safe and efficient delivery of field programs. The position works independently in remote environments and collaborates with scientists, technical staff, and seasonal field personnel to support ABMI's long-term biodiversity monitoring programs. The Ecological Field Technologist conducts ecological and restoration monitoring activities across Alberta by implementing established protocols and collecting high-quality field data. The role involves working independently in remote environments while collaborating with scientists and technical staff to support long-term biodiversity monitoring programs.

Candidates must hold a diploma or bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline and possess at least two years of experience in ecological field work or environmental monitoring. A valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license and the ability to work safely in remote environments are also required.
