Reporting to the Senior Director, this role ensures that career coaching and industry engagement practices are proactive, relationship-centered, consistent, and aligned with the college’s goals for student outcomes. This role also supports the college’s market connectivity efforts by strengthening relationships with employers across the Denver metro area and key national markets, ensuring that students have access to high-quality recruiting pipelines and meaningful exposure to diverse industries and companies. To stay aligned with the student experience, this position maintains a minimal career coaching caseload of undergraduate and/or graduate students. Essential Functions Team Leadership, Culture Building & Process Consistency * Supervise and develop members of the Career Services team, primarily at the assistant director level, by establishing performance expectations, fostering a collaborative culture, and supporting ongoing professional development. * Ensure coaching best practices are consistent amongst team members by providing ongoing feedback, training, and support to coaches. * Take lead on hiring, recruiting, and onboarding new team members. * Lead selected career services initiatives, communications, student support processes, and workflow improvements to ensure consistency across the team. Market Connectivity & Industry Exposure * Design and execute initiatives that increase student exposure to employers, industries, and emerging career paths within the Denver business community. * Create opportunities for students to discover new companies through industry events, alumni panels, and networking programs. * Represent Daniels professionally and strategically in the community to strengthen recruiting partnerships and deepen employer commitment. * Responsible for developing current and relevant industry sector knowledge and expertise to support students exploring career opportunities within those sectors; continuously develop and master industry best practices for recruiting and sourcing talent. Student Experience & Career Coaching * Oversee curriculum development and management for the Daniels Professional Development Program, a required course for sophomore level students. * Maintain a caseload of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as alumni; provide coaching on career planning, internship and job search strategy, career exploration, recruiting preparation, and more. * Ensure student-facing onboarding materials are accurate and timely within Canvas, print brochures, on websites, and so on. * Use data, student feedback, and staff input to strengthen career coaching practices and improve student experience. * Partner with Student Success Center colleagues, academic departments, faculty, admissions, campus-wide career service teams, and other campus partners to improve continuity of care. CRM/Technical Tools, Data Integrity & Reporting * Ensure robust use of career services tools and CRM for outcomes tracking, student appointment notes, industry engagements, analytics, and strategic decision making. * Oversee accurate documentation of student interactions, outcomes data, and recruitment activity that support rankings, accreditation, and continuous improvement. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Ability to work independently under general supervision * High interpersonal skills as well as emotional intelligence * Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a team-based environment * Strong understanding of student development, career coaching, and higher education * Able to navigate or learn Salesforce, 12Twenty, PeopleGrove, Microsoft tools, Zoom, and additional technology * Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills * Ability to interact with corporate recruiters, employers, and industry professionals * Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously without sacrificing quality or accuracy * Analytical, critical thinking and reasoning and problem-solving skills. Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in business, Higher Education, or a related field * Seven plus (7+) years of professional experience in career services, student success, student affairs, or a business-related area like management, recruiting, consulting, or finance. * Overall experience should include at least two (2) years of supervision, leadership, or professional mentoring. Preferred Qualifications * Master’s degree in business, Higher Education, or a related field * Experience in academic or curriculum planning/development * Experience with recruiting software programs and the talent development lifecycle. * Proficiency in database management and data analysis Working Environment * In-person with options for remote work based on larger university and college policies * Standard office environment * Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate * Noise level is quiet to moderate * Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time * Occasionally required to move about the office/campus Physical Activities • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time. • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.
