The opportunity: We are seeking a part-time School Physiotherapist (PT) to join our dedicated Therapy Services team and provide physiotherapy services to students in Nunavut schools. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Physiotherapist will assess student needs, develop and implement individualized therapeutic interventions, and support students, families, caregivers, and school teams in achieving positive outcomes. The position involves regular travel to Nunavut schools, as well as virtual follow-up services from a home-based office. The Physiotherapist will contribute to the development and delivery of school-based therapy programs, provide education and consultation to students, families and school staff, and collaborate with health, education, community and government partners to support the diverse needs of Nunavut students. The role also includes equipment recommendations, documentation and care planning, as well as contributing to program development and health promotion initiatives. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting accessible, responsive physiotherapy services for students and communities across Nunavut. The qualifications and experience we’re looking for: Baccalaureate or Master's Degree in Physiotherapy. Currently registered to practice Physiotherapy with good standing in a Canadian Province. Membership in Canadian Physiotherapy Association. General clinical experience of two or more years is preferred. If less than two years' experience, successful completion of certification exam is required. Experience writing reports and drafting own correspondence is preferred. Experience with children preferred. Demonstrated leadership/supervisory experience preferred. Effective communication skills, oral and written are required. Time management, organizational and problem-solving skills are required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. An understanding of the health care system and health practices is required. Must have a well-developed understanding of professional responsibility and confidentiality is required. Must be able to work as a team member but with limited supervision and therefore must be self-directed and able to prioritize own work is required. Computer literacy is required. The ability to work with a multidisciplinary team effectively is required. Creativity and adaptability in working situations which may vary greatly in their quality and availability of resources is required. Experience in program development is preferred. Experience working in schools is preferred. Experience working in Response to Intervention model is preferred. Cross cultural awareness and experience is preferred. Experience with virtual therapy and virtual therapy platforms is preferred. Inuktitut Language proficiency an asset. Why the University of Manitoba? Requirements

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in physiotherapy and current registration in good standing with a Canadian province are required, along with membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are required; two or more years of clinical experience and experience with children, schools, program development, virtual therapy, or cross-cultural work are preferred.
