Job summary
Senior Estimator – Urbacon Role Objectives As a senior estimator, you will be responsible for calculating major construction cost estimates, and you will be involved in the planning, development, negotiation, and contract execution of a project. Responsibilities Review of bid documents identifying special requirements and assisting the department in mitigation of risks. Review plans and specifications in detail. Interpret specific requirements of any bid submission. Participate in pre-bid meetings, develop bid strategies and take ownership of the budget / tender process. Take-offs, schedule/price estimates and prepare preliminary schedules, general requirements for review. Prepare budgets, cost proposals and value engineering to suit different project delivery methods. Coordinate with subtrades and industry professionals. Candidate Requirements Academic background related to construction/engineering and/or applicable designation in estimating. 10+ years experience in progressive estimating positions with general contractors and/or construction managers on large and medium sized ICI projects (Fit-ups, Additions, New Builds.) Strong skills in estimating software. Ability to create detailed estimates from preliminary information. Strong background in CCDC2 and CCDC5B contract type tenders. Excellent knowledge in tendering procedures and industry trends. Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and flexibility to work additional hours when required.
