In this role, you will oversee procurement operations, reporting, sourcing initiatives, supplier relationships, team leadership, and key business transformation projects that support the future growth of the organization. We're seeking a leader who is just as comfortable analyzing spend, savings, and performance metrics as they are leading supplier negotiations, coaching team members, and collaborating with senior leaders across the business. This role offers broad exposure across Finance, Supply Chain, IT, and Operations while providing the opportunity to influence procurement strategy on a global scale. If you're a hands-on procurement leader who thrives on solving complex challenges, building strong partnerships, and driving continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you. Location: This role is based in Balzac, Alberta and is intended for candidates located in the Calgary area. Due to the collaborative and operational nature of the position, remote work is not available. Responsibilities Lead day-to-day procurement operations and ensure priorities, deadlines, and resources are aligned with business objectives. Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to support team performance, accountability, and development. Own procurement reporting, KPIs, and savings tracking, ensuring accuracy, visibility, and actionable insights for leadership. Partner with Finance, Accounts Payable, IT, Legal, and business stakeholders to improve processes, reporting, and procurement effectiveness. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, contract discussions, and commercial reviews that deliver measurable value. Conduct spend analysis, supplier assessments, and market evaluations to identify savings opportunities and drive continuous improvement. Support procurement governance, policy compliance, supplier onboarding, and risk management activities. Serve as a procurement leader on business and system transformation initiatives, helping implement new tools, processes, and capabilities. Collaborate with stakeholders across North America and internationally to support business priorities and supplier relationships. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Seven or more years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or commercial management. Proven experience leading people, managing competing priorities, and driving results in a fast-paced environment. Strong background in sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, procurement operations, and performance reporting. Advanced Excel and analytical skills with the ability to manage complex reporting, spend analysis, and business metrics. Experience utilizing ERP, analytics, and reporting systems; JDE and Power BI experience are preferred. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions and regions. Experience working within a complex, multi-entity, or global organization is preferred. Professional certifications such as SCMP, CPSM, or CIPS are considered an asset.
