Responsibilities Tasks Complete and maintain station records, logs and reports Instruct apprentices Assist in the development of operation, maintenance and safety procedures Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and to ensure plant systems are operating normally Operate automated or computerized control systems Operate equipment in hydro, thermal and nuclear power plants Perform routine equipment maintenance Regulate and co-ordinate transmission loads, frequency and line voltage Regulate water levels Write plant or building operation reports Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Stationary Engineer 'B' - Refrigeration Plant Operator Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate Forklift Operator Certification Experience and specialization Equipment and machinery experience Ammonia refrigeration Compressors Condensers Cooling tower High pressure boilers Low pressure boilers Water and waste treatment utilities Additional information Security and safety Criminal record check Transportation/travel information Own vehicle Weight handling Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Personal suitability Dependability Excellent oral communication Team player Benefits Financial benefits As per collective agreement Other Benefits Free parking available Learning/training paid by employer Wellness program

Requirements

Requires a college degree or equivalent experience with 2 to 3 years of professional experience. Must hold a Stationary Engineer 'B' certification and WHMIS certification.
