Our Distribution group is currently looking to add an Equipment Operator to our growing team, based in Sherwood Park, AB. Reporting to the Manager, Subdivisions, we are seeking an experienced operator to support new shallow underground utility construction work in residential subdivisions around Edmonton. Main equipment would be a trackhoe and backhoe. Duties and Responsibilities Operate equipment in a safe, efficient and appropriate manor Understanding of soil mechanics and work with geotechnical engineers on density testing of soils Be aware of proper rigging equipment and procedures for lifting materials Complete daily equipment inspection forms Participate in daily Safety Meetings and Hazard Assessments Participate in daily work planning schedule meetings Have a sound understanding of issues relating to ground disturbance Assist ground crew in duties out of equipment when there is no operating work Maintain good housekeeping practices Other duties as assigned 3 years experience operating trackhoe and backhoe Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification Must have a valid Class-5 driver’s license and an acceptable drivers abstract Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outside for extended periods of time Must be flexible to working varying hours Strong team member with a positive attitude We offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including an RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing. What you’ll do

Operate trackhoes and backhoes for shallow underground utility construction in residential subdivisions. Responsibilities include performing equipment inspections, coordinating with geotechnical engineers on soil density, and assisting ground crews.

Requirements

Requires at least 3 years of experience operating trackhoes and backhoes along with a Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification. A valid Class-5 driver's license and the ability to perform physical labor outdoors are mandatory.
