The Opportunity The Senior Specialist, Data Modeler (Microsoft) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data models, ETL pipelines, and analytics solutions using Microsoft and modern data platforms in Toronto, ON. This role ensures that enterprise data is reliable, governed, and optimized for reporting, analytics, and AI-driven decision-making. The incumbent plays a critical role in enabling business intelligence, operational efficiency, and strategic planning by transforming complex data from multiple sources—including databases, APIs, IoT devices, and applications—into structured, high-quality datasets. Working closely with data scientists, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders, the Senior Specialist ensures that data solutions are performant, scalable, and aligned with enterprise data governance standards. You will report to the Manager, Data Reporting and Visualization and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data & AI, IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors. About You You are a modern, hands-on data modeler and builder with deep expertise in Microsoft and Azure data platforms. You are comfortable owning the full lifecycle of data solutions—from raw data ingestion to transformation, modeling, and delivery into semantic layers and reporting tools. You bring strong technical proficiency in SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and ETL frameworks, with proven experience building end-to-end pipelines, scalable data models, and Power BI semantic layers. You thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where you can design and implement solutions—not just define them. You are equally comfortable working with engineers, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into performant, governed, and scalable data solutions. You are passionate about enabling self-service analytics, AI/ML readiness, and high-quality data products.
