Job details

Job Overview ValWell Technologies is an Edmonton-based manufacturer and service company supplying wellhead and valve equipment to oil and gas producers across Western Canada. We build, repair and service equipment in our Edmonton facility and support customers from field locations in Alberta. We are a hands-on industrial company that has decided to run on modern systems, and we are hiring a new grad to help make that happen. About the role You will work directly with our AI Lead to apply AI and current technology to streamline how ValWell operates, from quoting and job preparation through shop work-flow, field service, documentation and billing. You will figure out how work actually gets done in the shop and in the field, find the friction, and build the fix: sometimes a cleaner process or a better report, increasingly an AI-assisted tool or automation that people use every day. Then you will measure whether it worked. This is an analyst and builder blend. You do not need to be a software developer. You need to be sharp, numerate, curious about how things work, and able to use today's AI tools to build things that a year ago would have needed a programmer. Who we are looking for This role is designed for a new graduate or someone with 1-3 years of experience. Experience is welcome but not required. What matters most is mindset: a curious builder and problem solver who, given a loosely defined problem, works out what matters and creates a path to a solution rather than waiting to be told each step. Degree or diploma in computer science, data, business analytics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, finance, operations, or a related quantitative field (2025 or 2026 grads encouraged to apply) Analytical and comfortable with data Already using AI tools (large language models, AI-assisted coding, automation platforms) to get real work done, and thinking critically about where they help and where they fail A process-improvement mindset: you like watching how work gets done and removing what slows it down, and you know the best fix is sometimes not software A finisher who takes ownership and delivers Clear communicator, comfortable working with experienced tradespeople and technicians who have little patience for jargon Comfortable in an industrial shop environment; willing to travel occasionally within Alberta What you will do Study how shop and field work gets done today, set baselines, and prove what changed after a tool or process goes in Organize technical documents, procedures, parts data and job records into clean, structured information that AI tools can use reliably Build internal tools, automations and AI-assisted workflows using current models, low-code platforms and AI-assisted coding Work with technicians to test and evaluate what you build, tracking accuracy, usefulness and actual use Help connect our business systems so information flows without re-keying Train staff, gather feedback, redesign workflows with the people doing the work, and document results Nice to have Co-op, internship or project experience in manufacturing, oilfield services, construction or another industrial setting Lean, Six Sigma or similar process-improvement training Why ValWell Real responsibility from day one on a company-wide technology priority, working directly with the AI Lead and senior leadership A small team where you will see the whole business, from the shop floor to the field to the invoice, and where good people take on more quickly Competitive salary, health and dental benefits, and professional development support Edmonton-based, in person, with the flexibility a small team allows How to apply Apply directly Linkedin with your resume. Applications are reviewed as they arrive. Target start date is December 1, 2026, with some flexibility for the right candidate. ValWell Technologies is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates and will provide accommodation throughout the hiring process on request.
