Sawmill Quality Control Coordinator

We have a modern sawmill, planer mill, and pellet mill facilities, which produce dimensional lumber, wood pellets, shavings, and chips for wholesale customers. The Opportunity Job Duties We are currently looking to hire a Quality Control Coordinator for our manufacturing facilities in Mitsue Industrial Park. Job duties include: Conducts daily Quality Control checks of all Sawmill and Planer mill stations Conducts package inspections to determine efficiency of Gradex Monitors and makes necessary adjustments to ensure wood is being correctly graded, sorted, and packaged throughout the production process Keeps management informed of product quality or potential issues Works closely with Comact to ensure Gradex performs to the highest standard Works closely with AFPA grading inspector to ensure quality checks are successful and accurate Maintains the HT Manual with changes noted, plus monitoring dry kiln schedules Working Conditions Exposed to noise, dust, falling debris, moving machinery, weather extremes, splinters, slipping and tripping hazards. Lifting heavy, awkward objects and climbing on equipment may be required. Required use of PPE appropriate for the task and working conditions. Must Have A solid work ethic, be eager to learn, and be a team player A Bachelor of Science in Wood Product Processing or equivalent work experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in the lumber processing industry Sound mechanical knowledge and attention to detail Current AFPA grading certificate is an asset, but not a requirement Candidates MUST either live in the local community or be willing to relocate If this position sounds like a fit for you, please apply directly through the portal. The coordinator performs daily quality control checks across sawmill and planer mill stations to ensure correct grading and packaging. They collaborate with management, Comact, and AFPA inspectors to maintain high product standards and monitor kiln schedules.

Candidates need a Bachelor of Science in Wood Product Processing or equivalent experience, along with at least 2 years in the lumber processing industry. A current AFPA grading certificate is considered an asset.
