Role Description The Property Maintenance Technician is a part time ( 20-30 hours ) , on-site role based in London, ON, responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Daily tasks include performing routine inspections, sourcing materials, responding to maintenance requests, and completing repairs on building systems, equipment, and fixtures. The technician will carry out preventive maintenance, identify and troubleshoot mechanical or structural issues, and coordinate with property managers and vendors as needed. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate maintenance records, adhering to safety standards and regulations, and providing respectful, professional service to residents and clients. The role requires working both independently and as part of a team, with occasional flexibility for emergencies and after-hours calls. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for building systems, tools, and fixtures. Strong Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance abilities to diagnose issues and reduce equipment downtime. Experience with Industrial Maintenance or similar environments, including mechanical, electrical, or structural components. Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC support tasks, with the ability to learn site-specific systems. Understanding of workplace safety practices, building codes, and applicable regulations; commitment to safe work habits. Effective communication and customer service skills for interacting with residents, clients, and team members in a professional manner. Ability to lift and move moderate loads, work in various weather conditions, and perform tasks that may require standing, bending, or climbing ladders. Previous experience in property maintenance, facilities, or building operations is strongly preferred. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Relevant trade certifications, apprenticeship, or vocational training in maintenance or building systems are considered an asset. ability to be on call for 1 week, 4 weeks off
