ER Manager Location: Calgary, Alberta Employment Status: Full-time Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre is offering an excellent full-time, permanent career opportunity for an experienced ER Manager. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role will also collaborate closely with the Medical Director, other hospital managers, and team leads. The successful candidate will support the General Manager in delivering clear communication, implementing corporate initiatives, and providing guidance to team members, ensuring operational efficiency and service excellence within a well-established hospital. Key Responsibilities Support the General Manager in all aspects of operations: people, recruitment, finance, capital expenditures, inventory and special projects Oversee the department to ensure efficient workflow, high standards of patient care and excellent client service Prepare for and lead change management initiatives, driving positive change while thoughtfully balancing people, operational, and financial impacts Lead, coach and support your team on scheduling, training and performance management Monitor labour utilization, productivity and scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing levels and cost control Manage department budgets, track expenses and support financial performance Qualifications Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience successfully managing and leading multidisciplinary teams, ideally in a medical or hospital environment Financials: Experience managing budgets, monitoring expenses, and optimizing resource utilization Adaptability: Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment and manage competing priorities Leadership: Experience leading multiple teams in an operational setting with strong communication and coaching skills Team Development: Ability to mentor, motivate, and retain high-performing staff Communication: Exceptional ability to adapt communication style to diverse audiences What We Can Offer You Competitive compensation that reflects your skills, experience, and the role.
