Job summary

Title: WD Functional Architect Location: Remote (Anywhere in Canada) Type: C2C Duration: Long term (Government Project) Key Responsibilities Partner with HR and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into Workday solutions. Lead the design and configuration of Workday Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Recruiting, and Talent modules. Define functional architecture and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Oversee Workday business process design, security configuration, and reporting. Provide guidance on Workday releases, new features, and best practices. Collaborate with integration teams to ensure functional requirements are met. Conduct workshops, training sessions, and knowledge transfer for HRIS teams. Troubleshoot functional issues and provide ongoing support for Workday modules. Qualifications 8+ years of HRIS/Workday experience, with at least 2 years in a functional architect role. Strong expertise in Workday Core HCM and at least two additional modules (Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Absence, Payroll). Experience with Workday Business Process Framework and Security. Lead solution design for complex, cross-module, and enterprise-wide requirements that span multiple PortCos, geographies, or functional domains. Define and govern configuration standards, design patterns, naming conventions, and architectural guardrails across the Workday tenant. Evaluate trade-offs between configuration, custom reporting, and integration approaches - making and documenting architectural decisions with clear rationale. Provide expert guidance on Workday’s evolving product roadmap and assess the impact of bi-annual releases on the tenant architecture. Identify technical debt, consolidation opportunities, and areas where legacy design decisions need to be revisited or retired. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
