We are currently looking for a Project Leader, reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Inside Sales, who will be responsible for managing a large portfolio of special valve project orders. Specifically, the incumbent oversees the planning, execution and monitoring of all projects from start to finish, while ensuring that quality requirements and on-time deliveries are met. WHAT WE OFFER In addition to a job that matches your ambitions, with varied and rewarding missions, joining Velan means being part of a passionate team and enjoying exceptional working conditions: * Competitive hourly rate * All-risk insurance program and group RRSP with employer contribution * Competitive vacation policy * Paid holiday time off * Free on-site parking * Company events (health, family, sports, etc.) and various wellness initiatives * Rapid career progression and professional development opportunities RESPONSIBILITIES * Coordinate kick-off meetings for certain projects with all relevant departments of Velan. * Create and manage the work plan in order to complete projects. * Work collaboratively with representatives of cross-functional departments to complete projects. * Establish a communication schedule and update stakeholders, including relevant staff and clients, on the progress of projects. * Ensure that promised project dates are met by taking steps to reduce risks and taking corrective action when discrepancies are found; Identify risks and oversee plans to reduce them. * Lead project status meetings and list action items with departmental and plant representatives. * Report exceptions and changes to the Velan management team. YOUR PROFILE * Bachelor's degree in operations management, engineering or any other related field (DEC in mechanical engineering with relevant experience will be considered); * 5-10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry; * 3 to 5 years of experience in project management; * Fluency in French and English (oral and written); * Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite; * Very good knowledge of manufacturing procedures and processes in manufacturing plants; * Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. What you’ll do
The Project Leader manages a portfolio of special valve project orders from planning through execution and monitoring. They coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate progress to stakeholders to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management and 5-10 years of manufacturing experience. Candidates must have 3-5 years of project management experience and be fluent in both English and French.
