Are you looking to take on a challenging and high-impact role? We are seeking a Senior Advisor, Community Relations. This position, based in the Quebec City metropolitan area, requires travel to Trois-Rivières. The role Reporting to the Manager, Community Relations in Quebec, the Senior Advisor, Community Relations is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of stakeholder engagement and public participation plans designed to support the project’s development. The role includes developing and maintaining close relationships with municipal and local stakeholders, including interest groups and individuals who are interested in or potentially affected by the project. The position actively contributes to refining and enhancing the public consultation strategy, participates in implementing activities, and provides strategic advice on various issues, challenges, and opportunities related to the project’s social acceptability. The responsibilities Possess in-depth knowledge of the specific needs, challenges, and aspirations of communities in the Mauricie, Portneuf, and Capitale-Nationale regions. Be able to draw on an existing network of contacts and relationships between the Mauricie and Capitale-Nationale regions; establish and maintain ongoing ties with regional partners. Advise management on all local issues, risks, and opportunities related to the project’s acceptability. Keep professionals in other departments involved in the project’s design informed about the information exchanged with stakeholders to inform analyses and critical decision-making. Coordinate the logistics and implementation of consultation activities with external consultants. Support the development of communication tools necessary for consultations and advocacy efforts in general, and review them. Guide the Media Relations and Internal Communications team to ensure that content is developed to meet stakeholder needs. Represent the Project at various regional events and support the development of partnerships. Represent the team on certain internal coordination committees and ensure internal communication and follow-up with the manager. Rigorously document consultation, advocacy, and other initiatives and efforts within the Boréalis platform. The requirements Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, political science, urban planning, or any other field relevant to the position. Minimum 8 years of experience in communications and community relations, or in related fields. Experience in managing relationships with diverse partners in project management and/or public consultation and engagement. Knowledge of Quebec’s political and socio-economic issues. In-depth understanding of how municipal political and administrative structures operate in Quebec. Proficiency in the mechanics of political mediation. Ability to travel to various communities in Quebec, sometimes for stays of several days. Availability and flexibility to participate in consultation activities (certain evenings and weekends during the consultation period). High integrity. Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written. Skills Ability to easily build and maintain positive relationships. Ability to simplify complex concepts, communicate them clearly in public, and write well-structured texts that demonstrate this ability. Proven ability to establish and maintain trusting relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations. Strong ability to produce high-quality deliverables for partners, the public, or senior management. Experience with regulatory processes (federal and/or provincial), such as those of the Canadian Environmental Impact Assessment Agency (CEIAA) or the Bureau des audiences publiques en environnement (BAPE) in Quebec (an asset). Knowledge of the public transit and rail transportation sectors and their specific challenges (an asset). Knowledge of the Boréalis platform (an asset). Why join our innovative team? Requirements
