What we offer• Hourly wage: $38.49 to $46.43/hour • Shift premiums: evening ($1.50/hour), night ($2.00/hour)• Comprehensive benefits (medical and dental) and pension plan• Travel pass after one year of service• Uniforms and equipment provided (boots, safety glasses, helmet, gloves)• Free parking, locker rooms, showers, and cafeteria• 5 personal days and up to 10 sick days Your responsibilities• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on railway cars• Maintain interior systems (toilets, seats, windows, etc.)• Work on major components (wheelsets, couplers, etc.)• Diagnose mechanical issues and propose solutions• Collaborate with the maintenance team What we’re looking for• Experience and/or certification or diploma in a skilled trade (carpentry, plumbing, welding, etc.)• Experience in maintenance or assembly of transportation equipment• Ability to work various shifts (day, evening, night, weekends) according to a schedule established in advance• Journeyman certification or Red Seal is considered an asset Schedule• Permanent position (40 hours per week)• Variable schedule (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays)• Overtime available Work location• Vancouver Maintenance Center, Mission Maintenance Center At VIA Rail, we are proud to be an employment-equity employer and we strive to form teams that reflect the diversity of Canadian society.
