Duties & Responsibilities: Job Summary As an NPI Test Engineer (New Grad) at Viavi Solutions Canada ULC, you will play a crucial role in the development and launch of new products. You will ensure high quality and reliable test methods are designed into automated test systems in manufacturing of fiber optic lab test equipment produced by the FOPLT Business Unit. This position will partner with R&D during NPI (New Product Introduction) and continue to support products through their lifecycle. Job Responsibilities * Design and develop test plans, test cases, and test procedures for new optical and photonic products, collaborating with R&D, PLM and Manufacturing teams. * Implement automated test scripts and sequences using programming languages such as Python, Teststand, and LabVIEW. * Conduct thorough testing of prototypes and pre-production units, identifying and documenting defects and performance issues. * Analyze test data, generate reports, and provide feedback to design and manufacturing teams for continuous improvement. * Participate in design reviews and provide input on testability and manufacturability of new products. * Troubleshoot and debug test failures, working closely with R&D engineers. * Maintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of measurements. * Contribute to the development of test strategies and methodologies for future products. * Document test processes, procedures, and results in accordance with company standards. * Installation and Validation of production systems located at our contract manufacturing facilities in Asia (travel required, up to 10%) Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements: Job Qualifications * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Optics, or a related technical field * Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, Teststand) for test automation. * Working knowledge of SQL Databases for querying, managing and analyzing data. * Familiarity with lab environments and hands-on use of test and measurement equipment. * Basic understanding of statistical analysis and data interpretation. * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * Knowledge of optical and photonic principles and components is an asset.
