Village of Fraser Lake

The Village of Fraser Lake is proudly situated on the southwest shore of Nadleh Bun; known in English as Fraser Lake, within the traditional territories of the Nadleh Whut’en and Stellat’en First Nations. Rooted in a rich cultural landscape and surrounded by natural beauty, Fraser Lake serves not only its residents but also as a vital service centre for neighbouring communities, including Endako, Fort Fraser, and the rural areas of the North Shore and eastern François Lake. Fraser Lake is widely recognized for its strong sense of community and welcoming spirit. Like many resource-based communities, Fraser Lake has experienced significant economic and demographic changes. The closure of the Endako Mine in 2015, followed by the West Fraser and Canfor Plateau sawmills in 2024, has driven considerable shifts in population and employment. These changes have brought both challenges and new opportunities, as some residents have moved on while others have chosen Fraser Lake as the place to build their future.
