About The Role Vitacore is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Assistant – Compliance to support our product development and compliance activities across multiple projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer or recent engineering graduate looking to gain broad, hands-on experience in medical device and regulated product development. The successful candidate will support projects from early-stage development through verification and validation, design transfer, regulatory activities, and commercialization. Working closely with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, suppliers, and external laboratories, the Project Assistant – Compliance will help coordinate and document the activities required to move products through structured development and compliance processes. The role combines engineering and technical documentation, project coordination, testing support, design control, verification and validation, regulatory support, and general product development activities. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and comfortable working with technical documents, test data, product requirements, standards, and structured development processes. You should be comfortable taking ownership of assigned tasks, following projects through to completion, and working across multiple technical teams. Responsibilities Include Support product development projects from initial development through verification, validation, design transfer, regulatory approval, and commercialization. Assist with the preparation, organization, review, and maintenance of technical and engineering documentation. Support design control activities, including product requirements, specifications, design inputs and outputs, verification and validation documentation, and design changes. Coordinate product testing with internal teams, suppliers, and external testing laboratories. Assist in developing test plans, protocols, reports, and supporting documentation. Collect, organize, review, and summarize test data and technical results. Track project deliverables, testing requirements, documentation, approvals, deadlines, and outstanding actions. Support regulatory and compliance activities, including gathering technical information and documentation required for submissions and product files. Assist with identifying and interpreting applicable product standards, testing requirements, and compliance requirements. Work with Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, R&D, and Manufacturing teams to ensure required documentation and project activities are completed accurately and on schedule. Support design transfer activities as products move from development into manufacturing. Coordinate with suppliers and external partners to obtain technical documentation, specifications, certifications, test results, and other required information. Maintain organized and accurate project records and documentation. Identify missing information, documentation gaps, outstanding testing, or other issues that may affect project timelines and proactively follow up with the appropriate stakeholders. Participate in project meetings and maintain clear records of decisions, action items, responsibilities, and deadlines. Support additional engineering, product development, compliance, and project coordination activities as required. Skills And Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized institution is required. Recent graduates and early-career engineers are encouraged to apply. Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to read, understand, and work with technical specifications, engineering documents, test results, and product requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and project workstreams simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Ability and willingness to work between Vitacore's Burnaby and Port Coquitlam locations. BONUS Degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Mechatronics, Materials, Chemical, Manufacturing, or another relevant engineering discipline. Previous co-op, internship, academic, or professional experience involving product development, testing, manufacturing, quality, or compliance. Familiarity with medical devices or other regulated products. Exposure to verification and validation, design controls, quality management systems, or regulatory documentation. Familiarity with technical standards, test methods, or laboratory testing. Experience working with engineering drawings, specifications, test protocols, or technical reports.
