Role Description This full-time Licensed Automotive Technician role is an on-site position based at Volkswagen Unionville in Markham, ON. The technician will diagnose and perform maintenance and repairs on Volkswagen vehicles, following manufacturer standards and dealership procedures. Day-to-day tasks include completing scheduled services, conducting inspections, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, and documenting work performed in repair orders. The role involves collaborating with service advisors and parts personnel to ensure timely, accurate repairs and providing clear updates on vehicle status. The technician is also expected to maintain a clean, safe work area, use appropriate diagnostic tools, and support continuous improvement in service quality and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Strong skills in vehicle maintenance and general maintenance & repair, with the ability to follow manufacturer specifications. Proficiency in routine service work such as oil changes and related preventative maintenance procedures. Solid experience in automotive repair, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues. Knowledge of suspension systems and related components, including diagnosis and repair. Valid automotive technician license (e.g., 310S or equivalent), in good standing. Experience working in a dealership or professional repair facility; Volkswagen or European brand experience is an asset. Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical bulletins, and to use modern diagnostic tools and equipment. Strong attention to detail, safety-focused work habits, and the ability to manage time and multiple repair orders effectively. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a service team.
