Location: Vancouver, BC Job Type: Full-Time Position Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Family Law Associate with 5-7 years of relevant legal experience to join a growing Family Services practice in Vancouver. The ideal candidate will have experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families on a broad range of family law matters, including relationship agreements, separation, property and debt division, and negotiated settlements. Litigation experience is considered an asset. The successful candidate will manage complex client matters independently, work closely with senior lawyers and external advisors, and contribute to the development of long-term client relationships. Key Responsibilities Advise high-net-worth individuals and families on complex family law matters. Draft and negotiate cohabitation agreements, marriage agreements, surrogacy agreements, separation agreements, and related legal documents. Advise clients regarding the division of property and debt and other financial issues arising from relationship breakdowns. Negotiate settlements and develop practical, strategic solutions tailored to client objectives. Manage complex files from initial consultation through resolution. Represent clients in family law litigation, where required. Work collaboratively with senior lawyers, junior lawyers, and external financial, tax, and other professional advisors. Mentor and provide guidance to junior lawyers and legal professionals. Maintain strong communication with clients and provide thoughtful, responsive legal advice. Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the Family Services practice. Qualifications & Requirements 5-7 years of relevant family law experience. Experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families is strongly preferred. Strong experience with family law agreements, separation matters, property and debt division, and negotiated settlements. Litigation experience is an asset. Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Strong judgment and the ability to manage complex matters independently. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Ability to collaborate effectively with lawyers and external professional advisors. Membership in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
