Job summary

The successful candidate will work on both litigation and real estate matters. The role requires someone who is organized, practical, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing competing deadlines. This is not a strictly back-office role. The lawyer will be expected to communicate with clients, opposing counsel, lenders, clerks, court staff, and other professionals. Responsibilities The successful candidate will assist with and manage matters involving: Litigation Civil and commercial litigation files. Mortgage enforcement and debt recovery matters. Construction, real estate, and contractual disputes. Drafting pleadings, motion materials, affidavits, correspondence, and settlement documents. Attending court appearances, motions, case conferences, discoveries, mediations, and other litigation steps. Managing files from intake through resolution. Real Estate Residential purchase, sale, and refinance transactions. Commercial real estate transactions. Mortgage transactions and lender/borrower files. Reviewing agreements of purchase and sale, title searches, requisitions, closing documents, and undertakings. Communicating with relevant stakeholders and parties involved in transactions. Ensuring files are completed accurately and on time. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. 2-5 years of experience in civil litigation and real estate law. Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to manage deadlines and multiple files. Confidence communicating with various stakeholders. A practical, solution-oriented approach. Ability to work independently while also being part of a team. Experience with real estate conveyancing software, Teraview, Unity, Soluno, Filevine, or similar platforms is an asset, but not required.
