Job summary
Facility Services Education Centre Applicants Will Be Considered In The Following Order Qualified permanent ESS/OSSTF Bargaining Unit employees Qualified probationary, temporary and Temporary Hourly Rated (THR) ESS/OSSTF employees. Qualified external applicants (includes employees from other Bargaining Units) Reporting to the Facility Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the Facility Services Department. The successful candidate for this Educational Support Staff position, Level C, will work 35 hours per week, 12 months per year, effective August 31, 2026. Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break) Responsibilities Provide secretarial support to assigned Manager(s) in Facility Services department; Maintain, process or update records, project documents, permits, work orders, purchase orders and budgets as required; Assist with scheduling interviews; Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal stakeholders and respond to rental inquiries in a timely manner; Record, maintain and compile statistics as required; Review and process invoices for payment as required; Respond to telephone calls and assist with user inquiries; Act as a liaison with contractors and public as assigned; and Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Secondary school graduation diploma is required; Minimum of 2 years experience in an office environment and direct experience providing customer service; Excellent keyboarding and organizational skills; Demonstrate data entry skills with a focus on accuracy; Strong communication skills (verbal, written and electronic) are required; Exceptional written, communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff and public with an emphasis on customer service; Experience and knowledge in using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint in a Windows environment is required; Knowledge and experience with GSuite is required; Experience using the Board's Computer Maintenance Management System Software "EBase" to generate reports and close out work orders would be an asset; Experience with Board Facility Rentals Computer Software "eBase" and Community Use of Schools initiative would be an asset; Proven ability to handle confidential matters; Strong judgment, good decision making and analytical skills; Proven ability to prioritize and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision; Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff and public; Ability to work independently and in a team environment; and Hold a valid Ontario driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis Applicant Self-Identification Questions The information collected in Apply to Education is used to monitor WRDSBs progress toward our equity goals including our commitment to diversity in WRDSB recruitment and hiring practices.
