Job summary

Company: WaveRyde Instruments is growing its world-class technical team for quantum sensor-systems for 5G applications. WaveRyde is a spin-off from Quantum Valley Ideas Laboratories (QVIL), well-supported by both QVIL and wireless industry leaders. WaveRyde is located in Waterloo, Canada (near Toronto), in the heart of Canada’s ‘Quantum Valley’ with excellent academic research and technology communities, including outstanding universities. The WaveRyde Instruments team includes pioneering leaders in quantum sensors and wireless technologies. Job Description: The position is focused on developing highly autonomous systems, including signal processing, for quantum sensor development. The ideal candidate has a passion for advanced technology and making revolutionary contributions to its development. A Ph.D. in engineering, physics or applied physics (M.S. are welcome to apply) is desired. The candidate will be a key member of a multi-disciplinary technology team, and thus a full-time, on-site, collaborative mindset is required. Desirable experience includes control systems, systems integration, digital signal processing, FPGAs and optics. A candidate does not require experience in all these areas but it is desirable to demonstrate knowledge of several. Key responsibilities: · Develop and optimize digital signal processing protocols for use in quantum sensing. · Integrate lasers and their control systems into hardened products. · Contribute to and system design architecture and product development. · Perform system integration for electro-optics, lasers, analog and digital electronics. · Design environmentally hardened systems. · Maintain organized records and document test results · Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot assembly and test issues and provide feedback for design improvement. Required qualifications: · Masters degree with emphasis in control systems and system architecture, or a closely related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. · Strong attention to details. · Ability to read and follow technical drawings, and assembly procedures. · Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills. Preferred qualifications: · 1–3 years of experience in systems integration or control systems development. · Proficiency with optics, digital signal processing, and environmental hardening. Requirements
