Journeyperson Millwright (Industrial Mechanic)

DESCRIPTION The Journeyperson Millwright is responsible for the ongoing installation, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting for the company’s industrial equipment. This position will be required to have strong manual dexterity and extensive knowledge on the applicable rotating stationary equipment under operation of the company. RESPONSIBILITIES Equipment Assembly Assembly and installation of new equipment and machines, including frameworks and foundations for incoming equipment Testing and monitoring new machinery and site equipment to ensure equipment properly operating Managing and recommending the best layout and placement of equipment and machinery Oversight of installation to ensure minimal downtime while maintaining a high degree of safety Completing repairs on aging equipment, and providing recommendations for new equipment replacements Preventive Maintenance Oversight Overseeing preventative maintenance for existing equipment Interprets and remains up to date on industry’s latest diagnostics equipment and technical manuals to maintain industry best practice Using company machinery and equipment to move and replace mechanical parts Supporting the Manager – Maintenance on any planning, coordinating, and communicating with vendors on required maintenance repairs Read and interpret documents such as specifications, machine manuals and blueprints Trouble shoot and provide solutions for machine issues and mechanical failures Other Duties as Assigned SAFETY FOCUS Follow all Wayfinder Corp. and OHS safety policies Participating in safety meetings Hazard ID’s submission and solutions reviewed with individuals who reported Identify and report any safety hazards or unsafe work practices SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or equivalent Red Seal Millwright Certification is required Must have a strong safety mindset, and the ability to adhere to strict safety guidelines and bring awareness to safety risks Strong working knowledge of mechanical technical skills with proficiency in troubleshooting to solve mechanical issues independently Proven ability to work within a team and strong attention to detail

The Journeyperson Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment. They also oversee preventative maintenance schedules and ensure all mechanical repairs meet safety and operational standards.

Candidates must hold a Red Seal Millwright Certification and a high school diploma or equivalent. Strong mechanical technical skills, proficiency in troubleshooting, and a commitment to safety protocols are required.
