Concrete Forming Carpenter Company Description WB Melback Corporation is a wholly Canadian owned company with headquarters based in Haileybury, Ontario with job sites all over the country. WB Melback Corporation provides Mechanical Maintenance and Industrial Construction Services to Forestry and Mining sectors across Canada. We are currently seeking a Concrete Forming Carpenter. Job Summary Responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling forms that shape concrete into required structures. Duties include reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, and assembling materials such as wood, plywood, and metal to create forms for foundations, walls, columns, and other concrete structures. Ensures all forms are properly aligned, braced, and capable of withstanding the pressure of wet concrete while adhering to all safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines, including applicable industry standards Interpreting Blueprints: Reading and understanding construction drawings and specifications Form Construction: Building and assembling forms using wood, plywood, and other materials Form Installation: Ensuring forms are properly aligned, braced, and secured to withstand concrete pressure Reinforcement Coordination: Working alongside or supporting placement of rebar and reinforcing materials (typically completed by third-party crews) Form Removal: Carefully dismantling forms after concrete has cured without damaging finished work Finishing: Assisting with shaping, smoothing, and finishing concrete surfaces as required Quality Control: Ensuring completed work meets required standards and specifications Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Keeping tools and equipment clean, safe, and in good working order Material Management: Estimating, requisitioning, and inspecting materials as required Communication: Working collaboratively with other trades and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow Requirements: Experience as a Concrete Forming Carpenter in industrial or commercial construction Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong understanding of formwork systems and concrete construction practices Ability to work in remote and industrial job site environments Commitment to safety and quality standards Ability to work in a team environment under varying project conditions Location: Temiskaming Shores, Ontario Work Type: On Site Sector: Heavy Industrial Multi-Disciplined Projects Hours: 10-hour shifts (30-minute unpaid lunch) Compensation: $30.28 – $50.00 per hour, based on collective agreement and experience Additional Benefits: Accommodations provided Daily meal allowance provided Travel costs covered (flights from home to site or driving allowance based on distance from site) *DSP CONTRACT ALSO CONSIDERED How to Apply: Submit resumes at: www.wbmelback.bamboohr.com/careers While we thank all applicants for their interest, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
