Job Purpose JOB DESCRIPTION The Repair & Maintenance Technician is a highly experienced and skilled role responsible for leading the inspection, repair, and maintenance of Weatherford's field tools and equipment with minimal supervision. Leveraging extensive experience and advanced techniques, the Repair & Maintenance Technician independently manages complex repairs, troubleshooting issues that go beyond routine tasks. This role not only involves performing hands-on repairs and refurbishments but also ensuring that processes and procedures are followed according to technical manuals and safety standards. As a senior team member, the Repair & Maintenance Technician also mentors less experienced technicians. Responsibilities Daily Operations and Safety Participation - Engage in daily operations and safety meetings, including toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), providing expert insights and facilitating discussions to promote safety best practices. Proactively identify, report, and address safety or operational issues, implementing corrective actions independently and ensuring team compliance with safety standards. Maintaining Work Areas - Lead by example in maintaining equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition, ensuring strict compliance with safety standards and procedures. Oversee the organization of work areas, mentoring and training less experienced technicians on maintaining efficient, safe, and organized workspaces. Advanced-Level Repairs - Independently perform advanced repairs on machinery or equipment using a wide range of tools, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and efficiently. Inspection of Parts - Lead in the inspection of used parts, identifying wear, damage, or potential failures using advanced measuring tools, such as micrometers and calipers. Provide recommendations on part repairs or replacements and mentor less experienced technicians in conducting part inspections and understanding inspection standards. Maintenance Processes - Oversee and execute all maintenance procedures, including unloading, cleaning, and visual inspections, ensuring all work follows established protocols and best practices. Lead continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes, contributing to greater team efficiency and equipment readiness. Documentation and Reporting - Take full ownership of completing and reviewing all documentation related to maintenance tasks, including forms, checklists, and work orders, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. Train and support other team members in proper documentation and WO Time tracking system use, ensuring compliance across the team. Handling and Moving Equipment - Safely and independently operate advanced tools and lifting equipment to move machinery and tools, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficient use of resources. Guide and train less experienced technicians in the correct handling and movement of equipment, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety regulations. Other Duties - Take initiative on additional assignments and complex tasks assigned by supervisors, ensuring high-quality execution and completion. Act as a mentor and leader, providing on-the-job training, guidance, and performance feedback to junior technicians to support their development and strengthen the team’s overall capability. Qualifications 4-6+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry as an R&M Technician, with extensive knowledge in advanced repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting. High School Diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in equipment maintenance or related fields are highly desirable. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) Proven ability to perform complex diagnostics and repairs independently Strong understanding of technical manuals and the ability to work with minimal supervision while adhering to safety and operational standards. Skills Basic Mathematics: Understanding basic mathematical concepts for measurements and equipment maintenance. Expert Equipment Handling and Troubleshooting: Independently performs complex repairs. Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Applies critical thinking to independently solve complex problems. Advanced Reading and Writing Skills: Confidently reads and interprets technical manuals, procedures, and safety documentation. Creates detailed and accurate maintenance reports and work orders, ensuring compliance with company documentation standards. Time Management and Leadership: Manages multiple high-priority tasks efficiently. Physical Capability: Proficient in handling advanced tools and heavy machinery, ensuring safe work practices and ergonomics. Problem Identification and Resolution: Anticipates and resolves issues independently, escalating only the most complex problems with detailed solutions. Mastery of Tools and Assembly: Expert in tool use, assembly, repair, and modification, completing tasks with precision.
