In this role, you will review tax filings, processes and controls to ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations, and provide strategic tax planning advice to clients. This job posting is to fill an existing vacancy. Duties and Responsibilities Review corporate, trust, partnership and personal tax returns and various tax elections Establish and maintain effective internal relationships Supervise and mentor junior staff Participate in income tax planning and consulting Think strategically about client needs by understanding their business in order to serve as a trusted business advisor Anticipate technical issues and where required, develop sound solutions Involve appropriate firm personnel to ensure all aspects associated with the work have been properly addressed Demonstrate technical competence in practice discipline, serve as a technical resource for staff, and provide suggestions for resolving technical issues Oversee preparation of voluntary disclosures for corporate tax related issues Conduct tax research and advise on technical matters Attend relevant workshops and conferences to remain up-to-date on tax issues Develop and teach internal courses on technical matters Qualifications University degree specializing in Accounting Minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience, focus in Canadian Tax Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory/management role CPA designation obtained or nearing completion Experience with TaxPrep is a strong asset Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations Strong planning, organization and engagement control skills Client-focused mindset with the ability to meet deadlines Respectful interpersonal skills and aptitude for dealing with people Ability to work under pressure with good judgment and common sense Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to propose effective solutions Strong communication skills in English; bilingualism (English and French) is an asset If you are interested in a great career opportunity with a growing, flexible and dynamic organization, please apply! Requirements
