Job summary

The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the Fantasyland Hotel Maintenance team, ensuring the effective maintenance of hotel infrastructure through proactive and preventive maintenance programs. This role provides leadership to the maintenance team, oversees maintenance projects, and supports compliance with health and safety standards to maintain optimal hotel performance. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Hotel Maintenance Manager in the daily operation of the maintenance department, including, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, inventory management and cost controls, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, adherence to federal, provincial and local standards and meeting participation and facilitation Support scheduling, training, motivating and developing the maintenance team, providing ongoing coaching, feedback and conducting employee reviews when required Oversee prioritization, assignment, and completion of regular maintenance work orders and CMMS, ensuring maintenance activities are documented, prioritized, assigned, and closed Leading, managing and communicating information about capital projects and property rehabilitations, including, but not limited to, scheduling, budgeting and complying with contractor bidding standard Monitor and review all maintenance records to ensure checks are complete and irregularities have been recorded and resolved Support the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including equipment inspections, hotel facility assessments, and capital improvement projects Work with Human Resources to ensure all hiring, training, and discipline needs are being met Support preparation of operating budget and approving work orders Representative of the Hotel Safety committee to keep up the safety standard requirement of the facility, obtain required licenses and permits to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations and safety standards Other responsibilities as required. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role; in the hospitality industry. Trade certification in a related trade is an asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team. Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs., as well as the ability to work at heights when required. Must be familiar with Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a full-time position with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
