Mental Health Counsellor One Vacancy, Full-Time Employment $72,872—$85,742 annually, 37.5 hours per week Excellent Group Benefits and Paid Time Entitlements, HOOPP The West Elgin Community Health Centre is located in the beautiful rural community of West Lorne, Ontario conveniently situated a half hour outside of London and Chatham. Primary Responsibilities: Perform assessment and counselling/therapy for individuals, couples, and families within the professional scope of practice. Act as a client advocate on individual and systemic issues. Perform case management functions. Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment, education, counselling, health promotion and services for individuals, couples, families, and the community including group sessions. As Mental Health Counsellor, What Do You Bring to the Position? Graduate degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university required. Current registration with applicable College or Association required. 3-5 years counselling experience preferred. Experience working with adults, children, and youth an asset. Proficiency in assessment, counselling techniques, and crisis management. Ability to establish and maintain solid community partnerships. Familiar with the unique challenges facing rural populations. Alignment with the Centre’s mission, values, and model of care is essential. In good standing with professional college, professional liability insurance, and a vulnerable sector police clearance required.
