Our Pacific Inland Resources Division in Smithers, BC, is currently recruiting for a fully certified Heavy Duty Mechanic. Third-year apprentices will also be considered. This is a challenging, diverse and exciting opportunity to join our Mobile Shop team. You will apply your technical skills and knowledge to support the safe and efficient operation of mobile equipment used in lumber manufacturing. You'll Do: * Repair and maintain industrial mobile equipment, including log loaders, wheel loaders, forklifts and other equipment used in lumber manufacturing. * Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues using manuals and schematics. * Complete preventive maintenance and repairs safely and efficiently. * Maintain high standards of service to support safe and reliable production. * Organize and plan work independently with limited supervision. * Work a flexible schedule that may include day, evening and weekend shifts. You Have: * A valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic certification. Third-year apprentices will also be considered. * The ability to read manuals and schematics. * Knowledge of hydraulic systems. * A strong commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace. * The ability to work independently with limited supervision. * Strong organizational and planning skills. The following are strong assets: * Experience working in a fleet shop. * Experience with Cummins and Caterpillar engines. * A strong electrical background.
